Rotary Club of Raniganj ? World Polio Day Awareness Seminar ?? An inspiring awareness seminar was conducted by President of Rotary Club of Raniganj in the esteemed presence of Assistant Governor Zone I and DFRC Chair, highlighting Rotary?s historic commitment to eradicate polio. The session traced Rotary?s journey that began in 1979 with its first immunization drive in Cebu, Philippines, protecting 6 million children. This success led to PolioPlus in 1985, and Rotary?s pivotal role in founding the Global Polio Eradication Initiative in 1988 with WHO, UNICEF, and CDC. From 350,000 cases yearly to a 99.9% drop today, Rotary?s End Polio Now mission, strengthened by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation?s $2 match for every $1, continues to inspire the world toward a polio-free future.
